Safeguarding
Please have a look at the surveys that the children have completed about their views on Safeguarding. Years 2 - 6 completed the questionnaires.
We take safeguarding very seriously at St John the Evangelist Catholic Primary School . Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Ramsden. Mr Lavin, Mrs Walker, Mrs Dawson and Miss Corley are also fully trained and Deputy Safeguarding Leads. Mrs Handley is the named governor for Safeguarding. Please contact us at school straight away if you have any worries about children's safeguarding. Some of the policies and documents on this page may be helpful.
Signs and Symptoms of Potential Abuse
We expect all members of our school community to remain vigilant to the signs and symptoms of potential abuse and report any concerns to our Designated Safeguarding Leads. There are 4 main categories of abuse to be aware of;
- Physical Abuse
- Sexual Abuse
- Emotional Abuse
- Neglect
In addition to these 4 areas, the following Safeguarding issues are also high on our agenda;
- The Prevent Duty (Radicalisation & Extremism)
- Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)
- Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)
- Children Missing From Education (CME)
- Child on Child Abuse
- Bullying
