Safeguarding
Please have a look at the survey that the children completed in Autumn 1 about their views on Safeguarding. Years 2 - 6 completed the questionnaires.
Safeguarding questionnaire 2020
We take safeguarding very seriously at St John the Evangelist Catholic Primary School . Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Kenyon. Mr Lavin, Mrs Westbrook, Ms Basra and Mrs Friis are also fully trained. Mrs Handley and Mrs Park are the named governors for Safeguarding. Please contact us at school straight away if you have any worries about children's safeguarding. Some of the policies and documents on this page may be helpful.
Signs and Symptoms of Potential Abuse
We expect all members of our school community to remain vigilant to the signs and symptoms of potential abuse and report any concerns to our Designated Safeguarding Leads. There are 4 main categories of abuse to be aware of;
- Physical Abuse
- Sexual Abuse
- Emotional Abuse
- Neglect
In addition to these 4 areas, the following Safeguarding issues are also high on our agenda;
- The Prevent Duty (Radicalisation & Extremism)
- Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)
- Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)
- Children Missing From Education (CME)
