St John the Evangelist Catholic Primary School

Head Teachers Welcome

Dear Parents/Guardians,

St John the Evangelist is a Voluntary Aided Catholic Primary School situated in the Parish of Mary Mother of God.  We are a one form entry school which caters for 210 pupils of 4 - 11 years.

St John's is a welcoming school where you and your child will experience the words of our Mission Statement as a reality.

St John the Evangelist is a Catholic School and we believe that every child is a unique being of God's creation.  Prayer and worship are an important part of our daily school life, and through getting to know Jesus our children learn to respect and value all the people who they encounter in daily life and appreciate the range of different gifts we all possess.

We are a caring school with high expectations.  Your child is precious to you - and also to us!  We aim to foster a love of learning in our children and our rich and varied curriculum is designed to allow every child to work to the best of their ability.  We hope that children will enjoy their experiences with us, learning skills and attitudes that will fit them for life and which will help them to be 'whole' people, confident, competent and contented.

We believe in the importance of a close partnership between home, school and parish, and we strive to maintain and strengthen these as they are key to our success.  During their time at St John's we encourage our children to become confident in their abilities so that they can use their gifts to the full and be the best person God created them to be.

God bless.
